Liberty Springs Trail and the shortcut to the bike path (if you park at the Basin) had White Mountain Sidewalk conditions to the Franconia Ridge Trail. That trail, over Mt. Liberty and to Mt. Flume, had some blown in snow and several blowdowns but was generally well-packed. Lots of fir facials as the snowpack on the ridge put one up there in the treetops. Crossings all snow-bridged.

We carried snowshoes but never put them on with some minimal post-holing in the blown in areas. Traction (Microspikes or crampons) was helpful on the steep, packed trails.

Really beautiful day. Cold and windy, at times, but with wonderful views in all directions and the gorgeous light encountered at this time of the year.
