Trail Conditions: Packed out to the ridge..some deep drifts near summit as I was first one through with snowshoes..packed out now by number of trail reports. Most brook crossings open but no particular problems..main brook crossing had solid snowbridge. Short cut to the Basin packed out and easy to find
Special equipment: I used MSR's up and Katooluh 10 points on the way down. Saw snowshoes..crampons and bareboots..bareboots struggled on the steeper sections. Plenty of sunscreen and water on this WOW! day..Hiked in light layers today
Comments: Just a spectacular day with perfect snow conditions, moderate temps, no wind to speak of...Wow! says it all..the VFTT were immense..could see specks angling up the Flume Slide..Saw 4 or 5 groups in all on the Liberty Springs Trail..most were smiling
