Friday, a friend and I did Lincoln. Up Falling Waters and across ridge to Lincoln. Snowshoes up, micro spikes along ridge with full facemask and goggles. Lots of wind, gusts to maybe 50 (I gotta gain some weight, it almost blew me over a couple of times). We were walking into the wind on our way to Lincoln so decided to turn around and retrace our steps back to Falling Waters rather than head over to Lafayette. Crystal clear skies, views aplenty. Saw 6-7 others on the trail today, mostly doing the loop clockwise which would have been the better route considering the wind.
Saturday I did Carter Dome & Hight with AMC group. Up 19 Mile, across Carter Moriah to Carter Dome & Hight, and down Carter Dome back to 19 Mile. Bareboot up to lake, crampons to Hight (could have used snowshoes) and snowshoes down from Hight. Again clear skies and view overload. Only saw 2 other hikers all day.
Great weekend, got to use all the toys in my bag and got some great pics. And oh yea, two more off the list!
