Lincoln & Lafayette 1/21/17
via Falling Waters/ Old Bridle loop.
Random Group of Hikers, party of 9. Above freezing weather throughout, no views, light drizzle for much of the day with significant wind. Hard packed trough with mash potato surface on the ascent & descent with just a few spots of ice showing in the usual places by the falls and on the upper steeps of Bridle. Ridge over Little Haystack and Lincoln a combination of hard pack, scattered ice patches, lots of rock showing. Lafayette less rocky. A few tracked out drifts, a little ice on the descent of the Lafayette cone. Light traction the entire way, no problems. Firm ice bridges over the water crossings. Trails should harden up and become much more slippery when they freeze over. Some folks were butt sledding down parts of Bridle.
