I suggest visiting the area later rather than sooner. The black flys and mosquitoes tend to hang around a few weeks later than in the whites.

I'm going to Baxter the third week in July and my wife is going to CO with her mother at end of June for a week so I'm still not sure how I'll sandwich this trip into the rotation but I'll keep that in mind.
