This was an AMC trip. We spent Friday night at Emerald Lake state campground, which was nice enough, and the campsites were nicely spaced apart, but it was quite near the road, and one could hear the cars driving by at night.
The LT and also the AT at this point, and the entire trail was in very good condition. One, may be two minor blowdowns over almost 26 miles, and the whole trip is blazed quite nicely. If you are coming from the south, when you get to the top of Bromley, make a very sharp turn to your left to continue on northward.
The big concern was about finding water, and indeed the LT/AT was mercifully dry. There are long stretches of boardwalk that have been laid down, indicating how bad the trail can be when it's wet, but that was not a concern last weekend. We always found water where we needed it, and flowing quite adequately at that. We never had to go more than five miles between water sources, and we only carried two liters each, which was always adequate.
Enjoy!
