Early tomorrow morning, ~5:30, I will be leaving for Bennington, VT to the Long Trail junction on Rt. 9 just east of the village. At the schedule Cave Dog is on I expect he should reach the road crossing between 9 AM and 12 Noon. He reached Rt. 4 at Sherburne Pass about 11:30 last night. From there to Rt. 9 is about 80 miles and his pace is about 2.5 mph.
If I'm too late at that point, I will head down to Stamford and access the trail at another road crossing about 3 miles north of the Massachusetts line near Seth Warner shelter.
I'm not part of the "official" dog crew for support other than to offer any whatever of the moral variety I can. Anyone else interested in joining me?
