Nash Stream Rd, Trio Pond Rd are in great shape. Passenger car could easily go in. Trio Pond did have a small amount of snow, which could be a problem soon, if you have two wheel drive and no snow tires.
Parked at the gate at the junction of Trio Pond and Phillips Brook Rds. Room along the side of the road to avoid blocking the gate. Walked up Trio Pond Rd. to the first camp. 50' before camp is a "trail" in that leads to a logging road. Road had some wet/muddy spots but they were avoidable. Followed the road to near its end before heading up into the woods in a SE direction to get Middle Long first. The woods from the road were steep but ok. As we approached the ridge we hit open woods with plenty of moose trails. From Middle we headed west toward the other (West) peak through mostly open woods and herd paths. Hit Long Mountain Pond near its outlet for an easy cross (pond almost frozen). Followed herd paths up to West Long. For our exit we dropped down and traversed north east and caught the top of the logging road we had come in on. These woods were scrappy but not horrible.
Easy out once on the road.
Temps were cold and there was snow the whole way. Trace at start to about 1/2-1 inch on top. Be prepared for winter conditions.
Way faster day than we anticipated with friend Bill Magyar.
