Ride to Monson area? North Troy? Canadian border terminus of the Cohos Trail?
I was planning to head out for two weeks of backpacking on the Maine AT from Monson south and doing car spotting with a friend, but now the friend is injured and won't be coming so I'm scrambling for a plan B. I love the Maine AT, the Cohos Trail and the Long Trail and plan to keep backpacking each of them again and again, so since I will solo (my usual backpacking experience), any of the three will do fine and I will gratefully kick in for gas. They will all take me to places I can access public transportation easily. for the trip home Plan C is probably a bus/shuttle or bus hitch combo (I've been changing my mind hourly).
