it was in the herald this am - don't think they really got "lost" - just took the wrong trail down or something.

Giggy. By definition lost is not being where you think you are. 
They thought that they were in one place and in fact they were in a totally different place. People did go out to search for them (I heard the FS request the AMC send out people to look) because the boys called and apparently didn't know where they were. It was lousy conditions the croo went out in to look for these guys. The boys were out overnight and if it wasn't for some kind hikers, who I believe let them share their tent, they could have had a very, very rough night out.
At a minimum we could agree they were misplaced for a while.

there is a major road within 4 or 5 miles and a simple map and compass will get you to that road!!
Might be a "not so pleasant" bushwack
