I lost a Leki trekking pole on the Mt. Osceola trail somewhere between the Chimney and the slide. The last time I know the pole was on my pack was a short distance east of the Chimney.

The poles have had quite a bit of use and they have little real value – but they do have sentimental value. If the pole is found I would really appreciate its return.

Thanks.

Sad Day for Leki

Wow! It must have been a bad day for Leki's! My husband Russ and I gave two thru-hikers a ride to the MW Auto Road yesterday from DQ in Glen and one of the hikers only realized he was missing his poles when he was getting out of our truck. We called DQ for him, but they hadn't seen any poles. The hiker, Infomaniac, then said they must have been left at the gas station next to DQ. Russ and I took Infomaniac's drop box info for his next location and told him if we came across the poles we'd mail them. I also handed him a cheap pair of Swiss trekking poles that we had to get him by. When Russ and I headed back through Glen we stopped at the gas station and THANKFULLY the trekking poles had been picked up and put in the back room. They too are in rough shape, but I think it is just as you said. It's the sentimental value of them. We will be shipping these poles off to their owner along with some other goodies to make his day. :D

I hope that someone here has picked up your pole, but to be honest if I had seen it I would have stood it up in view and left it in the event you realized it was missing and came back looking for it. Perhaps it IS right where you lost it, but then again it would suck to have to re-hike the hike and not find it. It is indeed a sad Leki day. :(

Good luck BIGEarl!

Big Earl I sure hope you find your pole
Good Luck I hope they turn up for you!

I have had my Leki's for so many years
they're faded & scratched up but
they are a such part of me & so many
hundreds of miles of trekking & memories!

I love them! ;)

Laurie
aren't you great to do that for that thru hiker
He'll never forget your kindness
& always remember you for it!

So good to know that there really are so many nice people
