Hi--can anyone give me "approach" advice (car/hike) for either of these peaks?

Louise-perhaps from the Canadian side?
Pisgah-i have no clue

thanks
jim

There's a well-defined logging road that is shown on the topo map (and satellite images) that gets to within a mile of the summit of Pisgah. It follows the west branch of Clearwater Brook up to 2,100'. I'm not sure if that road will be gated, but that's how I plan on approaching it.

A--I've seen that one and also another well defined road that goes "in" about 2 1/2 miles further north of that and approaches Pisgah from the west. I may be up that way for other reasons this weekend and will try to get some local info---j

I've been on the road Albee describes. It's a good road you gain elevation on it .Beyond where you park to do Pisgah it goes down hill a little crosses a bridge to a nice spot where one could do Sisk.
I noticed on DeLorme a rd called Lecroix rd goes towards Louise past Arnold pond.Looks like a 4 mile ride to base of Louise.Never been there though.

Mark--thanks for info on Pisgah (the 3ks-Sisk- are not in my plan)--always good to find someone who's actually been there--i had seen the road you mention for Louise (shows as gated in my Delorme) and I'm also considering a road called Bocage on Canadian side which would put me N of Loiuse

The N side of Louise is in a segment of the same Canadian park that contains Gosford according to that map which I've seen but don't have. Bring Cdn $$ for gate fee as they didn't take US $$ and expect attendant to speak only French.

It may vary, but ZEC Louise Gosford gardien Gerard spoke English with Steve and me in August 2007, albeit with a pronounced French accent. He also seemed happy to accept our US dollars for the fee. We found him tres agreable et jolie, vraiment.

They spoke English and took US$ at the Gosford gatehouse in August, 2008, as well.

Bee-yoo-ti-ful area!
