My wife, Leesa, and I took advantage of the perfect weather on Saturday to do a loop hike of the lower Great Range (minus LWJ). We started at the Garden and went to Johns Brook Lodge, then up the Orebed Trail. We hit Saddleback first, then took a side trip to Pyramid where we stopped to have some food.
Back on the Range Trail, we continued north over Gothics, Armstrong and Upper Wolfjaw. I forgot my dog harness and had a fun time carrying my hound dog Rev down the Armstrong ladder. She had enough about 2/3 the way down and she jumped to the ground, nove the worse for wear.
Saddleback, Gothics and Armstrong were all new for Leesa. The trail conditions were great. Lots of people out.
