Greetings all, we left Friday morning from Lowe's Store under threat of rain. Imagine our relief as we progressed to Crag Cam the lack of rain along the way. The conditions warranted crampons, so these were brought along. We did find them to be useful at the pitch below the Log Cabin; steep and well iced over. We were rewarded with some rain and a stormy rainy night was had by all at Crag. Saturday we attempted to summit Jefferson, hoping that some remainder of a solid monorail could be found. Alas, before the upper junction with the perch path the trail disappeared and we left some wonderful holes for you to enjoy. It snowed that evening, some 2 inches recovered the icy patches and solidified the pack. Our trip out Sunday morning gave us the downhill version of "trust your crampons". Below the Log Cabin the snow had warmed a bit and a lot of the wet crossings were open. Our thanks to the Bacon Boys, we have new recipes to enjoy on the next trip out.
