Date of Hike: Sat., 19 Nov. 2011
Trails: Road Walk, Bushwhack
Conditions: Ed Hawkins and I did a map and compass bushwhack from Nash Stream Rd. to Middle and South Whitcomb. There was some fresh snow from last night, about 1" down low to about 3" on the summits. We parked at the closed gate on Nash Stream Road, and walked to the base of the middle peak using the existing logging road. The whack up to the middle peak was open woods with one section of thick spruce. The whack over to the south peak was a slab hike along the contour through open mostly open woods. Coming down off of the south peak was very easy through open woods. We connected onto a snowmobile trail, which joined the logging road at the bottom. We saw lots of tracks today, Bear, Moose, deer, Coyote, and Beaver. Beautiful day.
