The herd path to Macomb is in great shape, thanks to Phil and his two companions a week ago and also a few people who rebroke the trail on Saturday. I left the parking lot Sunday, 2/24, at a late 8am under painfully brilliant blue skies and warm temperatures. Herd path is obvious just before the lean to. The snow was fairly soft due to warm temperatures, so snowshoes were fine for going up but crampons were the way to go for the descent. The herd path over to South Dix was well broken out also by a few parties. The views of the Great Range were phenomenal.

Gee, back to the car well before dark for once! Felt like a walk in the park. Nice to hear the birds singing.

Looks like you're going to get those NY peaks this winter. Go girl!!
Does it "count" if you don't come out in the dark?
