Date of Hike: 8/26 and 8/27
Trail Conditions: Excellent conditions on the herd paths in the Dix range. Loose gravel and stone on slide up Macomb. Kudos to the people who maintained these herd paths and Lillian Brook Trail.
Special Equipment Required: To avoid cuts and bruises from hidden rocks, tree stumps and tree limbs, ong-sleeve shirt and long underwear under shorts for herd paths especially on path between Hough and Dix.
Comments: - Virtually no mud in the Dix range. No water on ridges. Some thick conifer on herd paths, brooks running hard on lower trails.
