mad river falls, hiked 9 3. evans notch, using Royce trail. lots of parking across road. due to heavy rainfall a few days ago, river was running pretty good. falls are about 1 1/2 miles in and needed to cross brooks about 6 times. two of those required us taking our boots off. no way to rock hop. a real nice section of woods with trail following brook the whole time. a few bugs but did not need bug spray. stayed overnight at cold river camps. a great place. thanks to cru and volunteers that make this so special.
