Trails: Howker Ridge, Pine Link/Howker Ridge coincide, Howker Ridge, Osgood; parked at Randolph East, room for dozen or so.. all trails in good shape, some minor mud pits and maybe 8-10 obstacle blowdowns that will have to be taken out with ax or saw work...Hitchcock Fall crossing done easily via the large rocks, water level normal..skeeters in AM biting but only a few, black flies later biting a little but dive bombing eyes and ears; weather so good just kept going on this trail, and enjoyed it nicely over the Howks, which would be a nice destination in their own right, with a car spot at Pine Link...trailrunner passed me early, ran into 2 guys and a gal on one of the Howks as I was descending..hope they did not get caught in any t storm...no one on summit of Madison around 10 AM..great views east and south, Presi slopes very colorful and some snow still on upper slopes and in ravines and the gulf..only checked the Bear Pit on the way up, looks like it could contain anything that fell in it!!
