Date of Hike: Mon. 5-04-09
Trails: Valley Way (Ascent and Descent), Osgood, Airline.
Valley Way was bare and fairly dry to the Jct. of the Watson Path about 3200'. The rail started about there and was fairly consistent to the tent site spur, where it got worse.
The rail was pretty tricky from the tent site up along the side sloping section all the way to the hut. The rail is pretty deep and quite narrow along the top. I wore my micro spikes to the hut.
The summit cones of Madison and Adams are bare and dry. Water crossings were no problem. I wore my snowshoes down from the hut to the tent site spur and switched to micro spikes to the Watson Jct.
One car in the lot when I got there and still there when I left. I thought I was following their footprints ahead of me, but I didn't see anyone all day.
Nice and sunny with some gusty winds, but not bad at all.
