Up Daniel Webster Scott from Dolly Copp, across Parapet to Madison Hut, summitted Madison from Hut side, then Gulfside to Adams, Lowes Path to Gray Knob, Hinkley Link to Randolph Path, finished at Appalachia. 12 miles, 5500 ft gain. NH4k No's 9 & 10 for Adventurous! :)

All trails in excellent shape. Daniel Webster Scott trail travels through some of the most beautiful woods in the Whites! Above treeline on Daniel Webster Scott a long and rocky climb. Lichen slippery on some rocks.
Wind and dark clouds rolled in and we decided to take Parapet around to the hut instead of going over the summit of Madison, in the hopes that things would clear up a bit up top while we skirted the mountain. Parapet is a rough trail but provided good shelter from wind. Met up with Dave Metsky, Woody, Spandex and Jen at Madison Hut, here MichaelJ was feeling ill and headed down with them. Met up with Dave Bear on Madison and continued together for rest of day.

Wind speeds ~45mph on Madison. Some clearing as we made our approach to Adams, then more dark clouds and fog rolled in as we climbed. Chose to head down Lowe's Path instead of Airline as visibility was better. Sunny for the rest of the hike. Very hot and humid down low. All trails in excellent shape.

Unfortunately, Terra the dog suffered some abrasions on her front paw pads. :-(

Hikers: Una_dogger, Adventurous, MichaelJ, Dave Bear, Terra the dog.
