This was my first time hiking Madison Gulf Trail and it's a new favorite. The trail is now snow-free and there is very little mud. The trailbed shows very little use.

Becca M and I had a wonderful time...perfect hiking weather and a beautiful trail. Here's a view from the tentsite rock into Great Gulf.

beautiful mixed forest along the Madison Gulf Trail...we heard lots of songbirds...wood thrush, hermit thrush, winter wren, white throated sparrow all filled the forest with music to hike by...

Thanks for an awesome day, Becca!!!

Sweet Patrick. Madison Gulf is listed as one of those tough trails right? But it must be right up there with the scenery, so Id prob be taking my time. Cool shots, as usual!

Love the shot of the birch glade...and definately agree with you about the birds out in force this weekend!
