or how I spent a fun filled weekend in Vermont.

Fun drive over from Maine on Friday, saw 3 convertibles (with tops down) and one yard sale, open for business. passed a vehicle in Maine with vanity plate Peak 576. anyone from here?

Arrived at Camels Hump and headed out solo for the day. Met probably 15-20 hikers along the way and it was a great day to be out. Zip off pants zipped off until the clearing before the summit. A touch of wind at summit but enjoyed lunch behind some rocks in out of the wind. Clear skies and views all around.

Met up with a crazy bunch of RI AMCers Friday night and we all hiked Mansfield to the Chin on Saturday. Shorts part of the day but full winter wear up top. Trail a litle hard to follow after Taft Lodge but we found our way. Caution required on the steep section, we all wore crampons. Saw some skiers up top. On the trip down the snow had soften up quite a bit. We finished at 2:40 so the winter peakbaggers amongst us will have to go back next winter.

Sunday some of the group headed over to Stowe Pinnacle (Pinochle). Snow and rain for a good part of this short hike. Some ice down low and a lot of post holes after the spur to the vista before the summit. Snow pretty solid at summit but no views.

All in all, a great weekend and I got to hike with some really nice people. Mansfield was Vermont anytime 4k #5 for me. Now to finish NH and then start in on Maine.

With this weather this past weekend, only one yard sale??? :)

Nice trip report, camel's hump is nice in good weather, I'm about 50/50 with it so far.. I'll be back though.
