Anyone out there have access to a computerized recent version of the USGS topos? (or other sources of info that would show reasonably accurate WMNF boundaries)

I need to generate an image of a particular area in Evans Notch showing WMNF boundaries, and the old topo maps (the ones used by Terraserver & most other free sites) have incorrect WMNF boundaries shown.

If so, please PM me, this would save me a lot of hassle otherwise.

good and bad news...

and bad news for you.

The good news is there are maps available for you, but not on-line as far as I can see.

Speckled Mountain (ME) quad has been updated with the information you need.

Terrain Navigator Pro has the “speckled mt” quad created in 1995 this is the version you need. I can see all the latest WMNF boundaries in that area. I believe the boundaries were updated by congress in 1990.

The maps for that region on Topozone are from 1970 this version isn’t for you.

I checked the State of Maine’s GIS site and the map for speckled mt there appears to be older than 1990 too. So they don’t show the new WMNF boundaries this version isn’t for you either.

Maptech, the creator of Terrain Navigator, has a link through the USGS to view the maps. There isn’t much control over the extent and zooming but you can see what’s available from them. Evans Notch

It looks like you’ll either have to buy the latest paper map and scan it yourself or buy Terrain Navigator and export or print the map yourself.
