Started at JBL and went up Hopkins Trail to JCT with Van Hoev. Hopkins is in rough shape overgrown in some spots. Easy to follow but very muddy and narrow. Much less steep than Phelps. Van Hoev was like a parade route to top of Marcy with a few mud spots. Phelps down was mainly dry all the way to the JBL. Stream Crossings were easy.

Special Gear: Many bugs above 3500 feet, Bug nets a necessity.
