Trails used: Hopkins Trail to Van Ho up Marcy, then Phelps trail to Range trail, down Orebed and out Southside.
Trail Conditions: Mud on Southside is minimal. Hopkins, while clearly not used as often as Phelps, is in good shape but fairly narrow in places. Up top on the flat section before connecting with the Van Ho is a series of deep, wide mud pits. Range trail in good shape other than a few pretty deep mud holes between Basin and Saddleback. The Orebed is it's typical mess. Looks like some new steps were added to the ladders, however very strong herd paths are developing off on the sides, increasing erosion. The slabs were wet and slippery.
