Hopkins and Phelps Trails from Garden are in excellent conditions as well (thanks to ADK & DEC Trail crew), a bit of significant erosion here and there along Johns Brook but nothing we can't deal with. Very few climbers from Garden but we met a couple who had been to Haystack, Basin and Saddleback the day before who reported only blowdown easy to go over and having no trouble at the bottom the stairs on Orebed to detour into the woods to the right (10/15 minutes). Another had earlier in the day climbed the Wolf Jaws, reported easily crossing three (3) slides just below the lean-to as there were already cairns marking the way. And the trail to Rocky Peak Ridge from New Russia is very ready (thanks to ATIS) for the “foliage” climbers and so must be the North Trail to Giant (via High Banks) as the 46Rs were working on it yesterday.
