I was along for the bushwack & snow-trench hike from the "bump" on Marshall to the true summit. It was quite the task, but thanks to the excellent work of the mtnhiker(s) and their GPS we made it and were happy to see the marker. The views from either summit were spectacular. I came in from Tahawus starting at 7:15 a.m. and returning to a completing desolate and empty lot at 6:10 p.m.. Except for extreme cold and "swimming" in snow drifts and sinking in spruce traps along the summit route, the day was wonderful especially having hiked along with two friendly, experienced winter-summitters. The trail from Tahawus to Herbert Brook is in superb shape.
