Trails: From the Upper Works via Calamity Brook trail to Herbert Brook cairn, which was easy to spot.
Trail Conditions: Calamity Brook Trail has seen a lot of recent maintenance, but you will still find plenty of mud along the way. Herd trail gnarly and muddy in places; minor blowdown. I took a wrong turn off the Brook on what promised to be the trail but which dead-ended. I decided to bushwhack back to the herd trail. Entertaining but slow. Trail was easy to follow on way down. I loved the sections of the trail that were in Herbert Brook where it descends broad slabs of rock. Very pretty trail.
Special Equipment: None.
Bugs. I saw one mosquito.
Comments: Calm, clear day. Shared the summit with six others, only one other person on that trail. Plenty of traffic headed to the Colden lean-tos. Limited views, except great view of Iroquois which had a bunch of people on top.
This one makes 40/46 and 106/115 for me. Summer is too short!
