The herd path that is very nicely tracked is NOT the usual summer herdpath. It will lead you on a circuitous bushwhack. It leaves the brook much too soon, and on the wrong side. It eventually passes over a bump (over 4000 feet) with a fabulous view. Of Marshall. Darn! The packed path continued, but we are not sure if it reached the true summit. We had reached our turn-around time.
