Hard pack, carried snowshoes all day, unusable. Put on Microspikes at the falls. Several very tricky ice spots along the falls. Falls were frozen over and cool looking. Wore the microspikes the rest of the day, this was most common footware I saw, a few were barebooting. great walking to the crossroads. Up to middle sister was icy and tracks pretty blown in, I was the first up today, may be broken out now. A few people I met on the way down were considering Chocorua, the cone looked awfully icy, wonder how they made out? Great views, blue skies, a little wind on top, only Washington was still clouded in, great day on the trail. Big group of ice climbers at Pitcher Falls
