Hi everyone ! Me again trying to gather some info for our last whackfest of the year (Dec.27th-30th).
Middle & South Hitchcocks:
Route #1: I heard several times about an old log/service road (overgrown ?) from Lincoln Woods up to the West Peak but have no clues as of where to find it ! Would somebody please help us locating it ?
Route #2: From Big Rock Campground, following an old road up to 2100ft but I heard it was nasty from there.
Route #3: I first thought of going up from the Hancock Notch Trail and hit the South Peak then Middle but haven't seen anyone do it this way. Maybe there's a reason ?
If we take Route #1 or #3 I'd seriously consider having a shuttle car on either end. Unless I'm told otherwise I was thinking of going up from Lincoln Woods and going down towards the Hancock Notch Trail.
There is also the mystery regarding the canisters. Are they still there, are there as many as 4 for a single summit ??
Any suggestions, advices more than welcome. Thanks
