trails: monadnock mountain trail
conditions: parked in a designated area in a sandpit (signed at entrance) about .2 miles north of the bridge over the connecticut river off of rt. 102. there is a register and sign a short distance up the trail. the trail was a mix of dry footbed and wet, slightly muddy sections. footing a bit rough in spots on portions of the old summit access road. the summit tower is in great shape. the brook crossing down low was not an issue, but i imagine it could be interesting in times of high water. some black flies when stopped on the summit.
equipment: nothing in particular.
comments: good hike. despite the haze the views from the vertigo inducing summit tower were quite nice. though never steep the trail ground its way up consistently making for a warm ascent. great breeze up high. thanks to jeremy for a great start to the day.
