Monkey Wrenching in the Whites?

I just finished Edward Abbey's "The Monkey Wrench Gang" again (for the I don't know how many time) when I started to wonder. Now I know NO ONE on this board has or ever would do anything unlawful. With that said....Have you ever heard of any "eco-terrorism" in the Whites?
I do remember a couple of "Damage to private property" problems in Milan to a private logger , but nothing aimed at the logging practices in the Whites.
Is this a problem? I really can't see this as a problem. Most logging is kept away from the mountain area (no profit). Am I wrong. Just wondering

Ya know, I'm going to close this thread for now because I'm not really comfortable with the direction it seems headed. If people feel that this is a useful discussion topic then PM me, but I can't see a lot of good coming out of this.
