Trails: Ammonoosuc Ravine, Crawford Path, Snowfields, Gulfside, Jewell Tr.

We put our snowshoes on about a mile in on the Ammo Tr. Still lots of snow. The damage done by the Avy was amazing. It created a nice view of the gully though.

Ammo trail in good shape all the way to the hut. Water crossings were no problem. The higher ones are still mostly bridged. Snowshoes with televators worked great. The peaks and the ridge from Monroe to Jefferson are basically snow free. Only pockets of snow now and then. Bare booted the whole way.

The Jewell Trail above treeline was mostly bare, but did have some deep pockets of snow. I went in to my waist in one spot.

From the tree line on Jewell down to about 3500 ft., snow shoes are a must. There is still 5 ft. of snow on the Jewell, especially just below tree line.

The brushing on the trail that Bill Marcotte and I did several weeks ago, sure opened it up. No more branches in your face.

Great day for a Presi hike today with Bill M. and Guy J.

Met up with Jeremy (Rocket 21) on the trail today. Lots of skiers out today also, skiing down the slides of the Great Gulf.
