Due to the current weather forecast from various sites, we have decided to re-schedule this to a later date (again). We'll hike Plan B - Isolation.

Our Plan A for Saturday will be a Monroe, Washington, & Jefferson loop from Marshfield Station; up via Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail and down via Jewell Trail, with the usual ridge stuff in between (Clay is optional but the views there are terrific, and it’s on the way). All of the forecasts have generally converged and seem to indicate acceptable conditions for such a hike.

If something develops in the forecasts that make an extended time above the treeline silly, our Plan B is Isolation via Rocky Branch and the BIG bushwhack.

We should know by late tonight or very early tomorrow morning if anything has developed that requires a change in targets.

Considering the length of hike, we would like to meet at The Highland Center at ~6:00am for final hike prep and head to Marshfield Station for an on-trail target of around 6:30am or a little after. The hike comes in at a straight book time of 10 hours but with breaks, pictures, and other similar stuff I’m expecting 11.5 to 12 hours. We should be back to the vehicles or nearly back before dark.

We hike a moderate pace, which is around book time or a little more.

If you’re interested in joining the fun or have any questions, please respond to this thread or by PM.
