Hiked from lowes store Kings Ravine then up the Great Gully Tr to Mt. Adams. It was wet and above 3500 ft or so the snow was flying, nothing was sticking, but it was pretty all the same, however very windy, cold and violent, so not for the inexperienced or faint of heart. Stayed at the RMC Grey Knob hut for the night, which was very nice as always, especially on such a cruddy night. Spent some time talking to the caretaker to hear that there was a moose blocking the trail about a 1/4 mile down the Hincks Trail. Naturally in the mourning myself and my hiking partner had to go check that out. So in the mourning we walked down the Hincks trail in the sunny 20 degree mourning. Well sure as poo there was a very large female moose blocking the trail about a 1/4 mile down. I dont know if there is something wrong with her, or if she is hiding from hunters ;) but she looked at us and kid you not turned her body parallel to the trail as to block it more. She didn't seem angry or hostile, but she didn't ignore us either, just looked at us for the whole 2 minutes we stood admiring her. So just as an FYI she may still be there blocking all access to or from Grey Knob via the Hincks Tr.
