I parked near the bridge over Beebe River at start of logging road that parallels Spencer brook. I crossed Spencer Brook to ascend north spur ridges of Mt Morgan right where there was very dandy waterfall. I passed through logged areas that featured serious pricker bushes. No fun. There was nice views of Beebe River Valley and Campton Mountain Ridge across the way. Then some mild mannered spruce forest and summit of Morgan. Cool Crisp air made for super views of lakes. Descent off Percival went much better. Passed through nice moose terrain. Then a grown in skidder road led me right down back to Spencer Brook. Crossed Spencer Brook to another logging road in good repair. I had to whack short distance to get back to the logging road I came in on and back to car. Not bad way to spend 5 hours on a nice day.
The recent cold weather and breezes really did a number on the bugs. Awesome! I expect they will return with heat wave being forecast.
