floodplains of south central.
tr. conditions;soft snow,very little ice.all very easy to bareboot on.slight drifting up top.with some snow,trail could be tough to follow up top.trail is packed down very nicely..
spec. equip;I barebooted the whole way but most had micros on.Thank you Krobi for saving me from carrying snowshoes!
comments;upper section of this hike could be lethal in a whiteout with some potential cliff drops.never went up moriah this way,stoneybrook is a very nice trail.Nice talking with Craig from up north,dude has hundreds of hikes under his belt.Afterwards spent frigid night car camping in gorham area,thank you to my -20 down bag.My car was like a ice box in the morning.Feel free to p.m. me, anyone who wants to know where I "camped".Was shocking how little snow there is up north,I hope next winter is better or we could have a economic crisis up there[it might that bad already].
