It's from Garfield to boot which while nice, it provides a great view of that side of the Pemi. IMO the ridge from Lonesome is more impressive. (I also like the other end of the Hudson better too.) Here are a few shots from the 1990's I've just scanned for or from Franconia Ridge Including one similar to the one used from a different part of Garfield:

It's true that those of us on this board have seen more striking photos of the ridge, but I'd still want to pack a picnic and go there from the photo in the link. I just don't think I would be prepared for the nature of the walk to get there. (And, did you notice the first comment from a reader on that link?)
