This is, of course, a poll of pure opinion, but for instance,my last trip to Galehead Hut reminded me of how unique a view it presents. I know not everyone uses or believes in huts, but more than likely, we've all been by them and admired the view. That being said:
What hut in the White Mountains do you feel has the best scenery?
( I've also included Gray Knob and Crag, cause after all, they're huts and they are in the White Mountains.)

Ah, Crag ... sitting right there inside or on the porch looking out over King Ravine and towards Randolph. Other huts may have great views near them, but Crag has the best from right inside, IMO, second only to perhaps the view out the dining room windows from Lakes.

Best overall scenery would go to Lakes in my book, but in winter its hard to beat looking across Lonesome Lake at Franconia Ridge. Late fall at Carter Notch is pretty sweet also:

Zealand Hut

I've visited Lake of the Clouds, Mizpah, Zealand, Lonesome Lake, and Galehead huts. Out of those, my favorite is Zealand. Looking thru Zealand and Carrigain Notch cannot be beat. Plus there are nice waterfalls there, and the pond is just below. What more could you ask for? So the location has everything I like in a hike..views, ponds, waterfalls, and a picturesque location.

Lonesome Lake is a close 2nd.

I'm partial to the view from the front porch of Galehead looking towards South Twin, Guyot and the Bonds.

For me scenic involves more of the senses than just sight so that often I have found the Huts unpleasant because of the activity detracting from the feel of the place. Not that they don’t have great views, just like summits, but when you have it all to yourself is when it becomes a thing of beauty to see, hear, feel, smell, and taste the scene.

That said, I have more pleasant memories of Huts in winter than other seasons. I have sat in the sunshine on the porch of Galehead in winter with no one around. Lonesome used to be quite nice on the ‘dock’ in winter or summer but it has become too busy of a place now. I remember a lovely sunset at the Lakes. I never stayed at Crag but I did enjoy that view nearby!!

Lonesome Lake in winter

There is no doubt that I like Lonesome Lake in winter. We were there mid-week and had the place to ourselves. The tranquility and beauty were incredible. Here is the link for the spectacular view we had one morning from the porch of the lower bunkhouse. How can you not rate this #1 with the lake below and the Franconia Range above?

I hope I fixed the link.

I'd love to see the pic, but I got a forbidden access screen, anything you can do?

Well, there you have it. Looks like good ol' Crag Camp is the winner. Thanks to all who voted!
