Mount Adams
Air Line Trail / Star Lake Trail (turned back 50-100 feet from summit due to dangerous winds) / Valley Way
Date of Hike: 12/28/2013 (Saturday)
Trail Conditions: Air Line and Valley Way had light dusting of fresh snow over base of snow/ice with some steep exposed sections of ice, Star Lake had some deeper sections of snow with exposed rocks.
Special Equipment Required: Traction essential, I used micro spikes today. All gear/clothing for low temperatures and very high winds necessary.
Comments: Wind on exposed sections of Air Line and Star Lake was strong but manageable. Wind near summit of Adams was dangerous (ran into a couple of other groups who turned back on Madison). Photos/video (and eventually a trip report) can be found here http://brian03104.blogspot.com/2013/12/12282013-mount-adams-almost.html
