On a beautiful Friday Annie and I are in New Hampshire to hike one of the oldest White Mountain Trail. Having this trail on my list, because I had read that it was one of the oldest, and finaly we did it. Two weeks ago, I wanted to it but because of the strong winds, I decided to postpone this hike. Friday, it was the perfect temperature. A very light wind, and sometimes no wind, blue skies and not too hot. But the sun was strong and few black flies. But with sun screen and Deet lotion, we were ok. Today it will be Mount Adams, the second highest mountain in the northeastern United States, by the Lowe's Path. This trail was built in 1875-1876 by Charles E. Lowe. The same family that owns the business on the road # 2 near Randolph. Exactly where we parked the car for a small fee of $ 1.00. I met and talked with Mrs. Lucille Lowe, a direct descendant of Charles E. Lowe. It is her great-great grandfather. And she lived for a while on the south shore of Quebec City and that why she speaks French.
Beautiful trail with several large trees. At first there were some muddy areas. The trail cstarted on the earth and rocks. But higher up, we have more rocks and it ends with rock only. It's the same in this region. A beautiful scenery awaits us as soon as the trail leaves the forest and we are above the trees line. When we reached the summit, we were alone, as in our last visit. But this changed quickly and we had several visitors. And we enjoyed for a long time the summit and the wonderful views we have. A super nice day.
