Trail Conditions: Wet. Brooks were running high and were a bit tricky to cross. Sawyer River Rd gate was closed so had to walk 2 miles in to trail head. I would recommend crossing the bridge on Sawyer River Rd to where the summer trail head parking lot is and bushwack that side of the brook up for about 150 yards in order to avoid the first river crossing. We were fogged in on this climb. On reaching the summit my GPS read 4350 feet which disagreed with the map (4,700'). Decided to push forward and sure enough found the extra 400 vertical feet. Indeed there is a fire tower on top of this mountain.

Special Equipment Required: As water was running high, we found rainsuit and gators to be most helpful.

Comments: After some 35 years, 1000 plus foot miles and perhaps 20,000 car miles Muddytrails and I finally completed the NE111 (actually 115 peaks)!
