Trail Conditions: Trails well packed all the way.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes with heel lifts, micro-spikes and poles. Tried full crampons but micro-spikes and snowshoes worked better for me.
Comments: Optional - Good hike with lots of company on the trail. This was my first time up the Ammo Ravine trail and to the Lakes of the Clouds Hut, very nice way up but much steeper than the Jewel trail if you plan to summit Washington I think the Jewel trail is easier and more direct. From the hut it is a short steep climb up to Monroe with nice views if not in the clouds.
