Here is a little list to get you started, Mats. I would be surprised if there is a winter record yet...

Dang.....I've only done 5..........it's very possible no one has done that list period.....if we now add about 400 10,000-footers to the list.....

Would be interesting to see what happens of Ed Hawkins moves to Montana :D

Life out there is a little different..........

We'll miss you as well Mats... Remember the fun baxter trip... :) I guess we'll have another place to visit when out west though :D

Hey Mats -

An adventurer, you are...!

Not sure I'll make it north next weekend, so a virtual hug and kiss to you - good to have a Montana connection now - much fun to be had out there!

Sue

Well Mats... I never had the privilege of meeting you but I do enjoy your posts.

Wishing you the best in BIG SKY country.
Take care and happy hiking in most beautiful country.

Mats is moving on to where both the sky and mountains are bigger. :D

Best wishes!!
Wow, a lot of those are just PACKED into small areas. It's probably deceiving, but it looks like you could go for a long hike and bag 10 of them! :D Maybe finding a road nearby is the big problem!

Best of luck!

In the meantime you might want to look this guy up; he already lives there.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conrad_Anker

There is a whole gang out there. I had the opportunity to meet Alex Lowe there back in 1990's.

Carlos Buhler also lives in Bozeman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Buhler
One of the top hight altitude mountineers in the world.

Doug Chabot also hangs out in the coffeeshops in Bozeman: http://www.mugsstumpaward.com/2003_cma.html

I actually climbed Grand Teton with Doug back in 2003 (he as a guide). That's why he got the 2003 Mug's Stump Award ;-)

Doug is the director of the avalanche institute in Bozeman.

I thought Bruce Miller lived in Bozeman as well but he might be homesteaded in Colorado.

Shake and bake!

All I can say Mats is they will now be in very good company on the hills!;) Have a great time out there and visit us often! We will miss you!

Bet you thought this would never show up anywhere! I would say we owe you a few, massages that is!;)

Mats, I love Bozeman.....can't wait to hear about your new adventures and I'll definitly be planning a visit!!!

Hope to see you up at barnes as I'm on the Rainier bail list....ughh

I guess that means no more random Mats sightings in the Whites! Best of luck in Big Sky country, Mats.

Hey Mats,
Having already made a couple trips over that way for ice climbing at Hyalite (or passing on my way to Cody, WY), I will make sure to keep your info handy and I'm sure I'll see you this winter ;)
Good travels!!

Crazy times.

Wasn't our first hike suffer fest in 2007 then our second hike the double pressie traverse 2 weeks later with Tim? Good Times, and a great way to get to know some one by spending it on trail. I'm thinking future vacations back to the whites for some more fun filled adventures.

Take care my friend.

Doesn't seem like there is a high risk for forest fires this week and on saturday. Bring umbrellas. I guess I'll have a fair amount of hot glögg to keep us warm. Maybe even some Swedish Bitter for Marc Howes ;-)

Shake and bake!

Also, please say hello to Karl Birkeland for me; he earned a PhD in avalanche science at MSU and works with Doug Chabot.

And, Greg Mortenson will need some love after what he is going through.

Mats, it was nice to have met you briefly (I think it was on North Kinsman a couple of years back). Good luck in your new home!
