SNOW. The trail was broken, mostly packed to the junction, the steeps were unbroken, the last 1/2 mile. Snow was waist deep in spots, slow going. The last 1/2 mile took more than the rest of the hike combined. A couple of parties behind me helped pack things down, made for a fun and easy descent. Snowshoes necessary the whole way, good loose snow, deep but navigable, wish a had a couple of folks to switch off with, but great winter fun. Wind was not an issue, big summits clear except Washington. Hiker lots were unplowed when I left at nine am, but those I saw on the way out were cleraed at 1, although I did not check Clinton Road, appreciate a post if anyone knows if that was plowed.
