Finally SNOW. Trail had enough snow to snowshoe the entire way up and down. Parked at the Depot, not plowed but enough traffic to make it usable. A_Z about five inches of powder over snowpack. Avalon link a little deeper with significant ice underneath, snowshoe crampons did the trick, but some caution required. Last 100 yards not broken out, again deep snow over ice, able to summit. Windy, cold(10F) and gray, no views, but fun to finally do some snowshoing. Quite a few parties out on my way down, most with shoes a few going at it with microspikes. Sun came out as I was leaving the notch, fabulous views of Washington by the time I got to Intervale. Hope this will be the start of a late snowshoing season
