What Bob, er, Wolfgang said. Not much to add to his report from yesterday. Rail was more obvious today so we were able to carry snowshoes vs wear them. As he reported, the trail/road will be miserable deep mud down low after a couple more warm days.
Microspikes were ideal once on the packed snow a mile in, or so, with no postholing. There were some tape-measure postholes from somebody a few days earlier, though.
Nice day, with some sunshine and fine distant views from the elevated snow surface. I hadn't been in there since all the recent logging. Dramatic change!
