I did the hike last Sunday. One person had broken the trail the day before, but I was still sinking in my MSR Lightnings. The rain storm probably has made the footing more firm. There are rather few blazes and I got lost a couple of times following false leads. If you have not been there before (as I had not) here are a couple of suggestions.
When you reach the sign at the Killkenny (sp?) Ridge trail junction, there are a lot of tracks going to the right, as suggested by an arrow to Mt Cabot on the sign. Don't follow them! Go straight ahead. After a couple of tenths of a mile, a broken out track diverges to the right - this is the correct trail. You will join track from the Mt Cabot trail at a Killkenny sign and turn up hill. Shortly thereafter, one track continues straight and another turns sharp right - go right. There is a yellow reflector on a tree there. After that there is only one track.
I found it a beautiful area. HOpe you have fun!
